PERSONALIZED COACHING. THE RAINMASTERS FRAMEWORK.
Business Development Coaching for Lawyers
Turn insight into consistent action. Build a focused, authentic business development approach that fits your strengths, your practice, and the realities of law firm life.
FROM INTENTION TO EXECUTION
Knowing what to do
is only the beginning.
LeadWise Group provides business development coaching for lawyers who want to build their practices with greater focus, confidence, and consistency. Using the RainMasters framework, coaching connects personal insight with a strategy and systems the lawyer can put to work.
Training builds knowledge and shared skills. Coaching focuses on application, execution, and real-world obstacles: whom to contact, how to stay in touch, how to start a useful conversation, and what gets in the way of following through.
We work with the lawyer’s actual relationships, opportunities, and goals, helping translate insight into sustainable habits and practical next steps.

THE RAINMASTERS FRAMEWORK
Style. Mindset.
Strategy. Systems.
RainMasters integrates psychology, strategy, and execution to turn good intentions into consistent business development action and results.
Style
Start with your DiSC-based Natural Rainmaking Style Assessment. Understand how you naturally build trust, communicate value, and develop relationships—and how to adapt to clients’ communication and buying styles.
Mindset
Identify the assumptions, discomfort, or internal resistance that get in the way of action. Work on what happens when you hesitate to reconnect, ask for a meeting, or move a conversation forward.
Strategy
Clarify ideal clients, priority relationships, and focus areas. Build a personalized business development strategy around your strengths, practice, and goals.
Systems
Put repeatable approaches in place for Pipeline, Nurture, Visibility, and Conversations. Turn your strategy into a workable routine for developing relationships and opportunities.
Four systems that support execution
Pipeline
Identify potential clients, referral sources, and connectors; understand who is already in your network and who is missing.
Nurture
Create authentic, sustainable habits for staying in touch and providing value to clients and contacts.
Visibility
Use positioning, writing, speaking, and other opportunities to make your expertise visible to the right people.
Conversations
Move from connections to meaningful business development conversations, client needs discovery, pitches, and next steps.
The G.R.O.W. progression: Gain clarity and focus, Raise your profile, Optimize your relationships, and Win new business. This progression supports application of the RainMasters framework.
COACHING STARTS WITH PERSONAL INSIGHT
Find an approach
that works for you.
Our business development coaching engagements begin with the DiSC-based Natural Rainmaking Style Assessment. It gives each lawyer a practical starting point for understanding how they naturally build trust, communicate value, and develop relationships.
Recognize your natural strengths.
Identify what already works and how to use it more intentionally.
Understand blind spots and friction.
Explore where business development feels uncomfortable, inconsistent, or harder than it needs to be.
Develop an approach that fits.
Build a focused, authentic, and sustainable system suited to your style, practice, and law firm environment. Recognizing clients’ buying and communication styles also helps you adapt how you connect and communicate value.
COACHING FORMATS & SUPPORT
Individual attention.
Support between conversations.
We shape the engagement around the lawyer’s goals and the firm’s needs, including existing resources, desired outcomes, and the degree of coaching support.
INDIVIDUAL COACHING
Work on your own practice.
A typical 12-month individual engagement includes a Natural Rainmaking Style assessment, 8–24 coaching meetings, focused “laser” coaching support between meetings, and access to the LeadWise Portal with video curriculum, tools, and resources. The scope and meeting rhythm are agreed for the engagement.
COHORT TRAINING & COACHING
Build skills and apply them together.
A cohort program combines a shared learning experience with group and/or individual coaching. A typical 12-month program can include the assessment, live master classes, coaching, and LeadWise Portal resources, tailored to the participants and the firm’s goals.
Coaching can be delivered virtually. We discuss delivery, scheduling, and the appropriate mix of training and coaching when planning the engagement.
HOW WE REVIEW PROGRESS
Look beyond
activity counts.
RainMasters examines the capabilities and behaviors that support practice growth, alongside the outcomes the lawyer and firm want to achieve.
Establish a baseline
Clarify the lawyer’s current practice, business development goals, and starting point. Agree the priorities and what progress should look like.
Assess capability
Structured self-assessments at the start and end of the program cover ten skill areas mapped to the RainMasters framework. Review shifts in confidence, consistency, and capability.
Review application & outcomes
Examine how the lawyer is applying skills: relationship nurture, meaningful conversations, opportunities, and follow-through. Review practice outcomes over time to understand the engagement’s longer-term impact.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Considering business development
coaching for your lawyers?
What is business development coaching for lawyers?
It is personalized support for developing a practice. Coaching helps a lawyer connect their strengths and goals with a focused strategy, effective business development systems, and consistent action on real relationships and opportunities.
How does RainMasters differ from general business development advice?
RainMasters integrates psychology, strategy, and execution through Style, Mindset, Strategy, and Systems. Coaching starts with personal insight and works on the lawyer’s actual relationships, habits, and obstacles, rather than offering a list of tactics without support for implementation.
How is coaching different from training?
Training fills knowledge gaps and builds shared language, frameworks, and skills. Coaching focuses on applying those skills, overcoming real-world obstacles, changing habits, and following through. A firm program can combine both.
Do I need to be naturally outgoing to benefit?
No. Coaching starts with your Natural Rainmaking Style and how you already build trust and relationships. The aim is to develop a focused, authentic approach while strengthening skills and habits that support your goals.
Can coaching be coordinated with our firm’s BD team?
Yes. We can shape the engagement around the firm’s existing resources and support. Goals, coordination, confidentiality expectations, and any progress reporting are agreed with the participant and any firm sponsor at the outset.
How long does an engagement last?
An individual coaching engagement typically uses a 12-month structure, with the frequency of meetings and level of support tailored to the engagement. We discuss the lawyer’s goals and the firm’s needs before recommending a scope.
